2nd pair done. Started these yesterday, finished first sock at noon. Started second at 1 p.m. and finished at 5 p.m.
Another pair of "Cowgirl Slipper Socks", again from leftover yarn. These will go into dd#1 Christmas stocking as well.

Two of Fifty-Two
Finished pair two of fifty-two. Good way to get model pictures, when he's asleep. I've started a pair made the same way (with more stitches, naturally) for the Oldest One. This is Brooklyn Handspun, superwash, in Thomas the Train colorway. It's basically this pattern, but I didn't do the first four rows stockinette, just right into the rib. I also did my normal toe shaping.More pictures on my blog.

Sock #2
I finished knitting these last night and wove in the ends tonight. Yarn is Socks that Rock lightweight in Terra Firma color. I knit it in a diagonal rib of k3, p2 which ended up looking very nice with the striping.
I'm slightly behind but after seeing the Barbie socks, I have the feeling I'll be knitting a lot of those next March ;->

Pairs 3-5
Two of the bookmarks and one on my feet. The ones on my feet are a hand-dyed cotton yarn. I think the yarn was dyed with Kool-Aid, but I can't be sure. The little ones (like the first ones) are leftover Lion Brand Magic Stripes. I'm going to LYS (60 miles away) this weekend with the hopes that my tax refund check will magically appear sometime tomorrow (please, God). I'm loving this...as long as I'm ahead of the power curve.

First pair was made for dd#2 (to put in Christmas Stocking) with leftover superwash merino I had in my leftover yarn stash drawer. Wouldn't it be a wonderful world to "not" have a leftover yarn stash drawer so one would not feel guilty to go buy more "new" yarn. :)

Tigerstripes socks for my daughter Hulda Sveindís
Made out of Skacel Tramboline Stretch, that has 70% wool, 7% polyester and 23% nylon in it. Lovely yarn to knit with, probably as good as I have at least three more of those to make.
Week 3 results
Ah, another pair. What a nice feeling of accomplishment.
These are a pair I knit using Dye-namics Yarn, colorway Forest Dreams. This yarn is sport weight, and for reasons I can't remember, I chose size 1 needles. This is a very dense, cozy sock. Too warm for summer, of course, but probably perfect for hiking. The pattern is a derivative of the Railway pattern referenced in Nancy Bush's book Vintage Sock Patterns.

I'm half-way through pair #2 (to be remedied this weekend, for sure!), but i have good excuses.
First, i went to visit my family in PA (as attested to by my last post on meeting Joan) and left my favorite sock pattern (yes, Joan, the beaten-up one I showed you) there -- no, despite my best efforts, i haven't completely memorized it!
Secondly, my husband and i are buying a house (no, it's not because my stash is THAT big ;D ... We were just ready to call the townhouse quits). So, that's left me with a good chunk less time as well.
Thirdly, my other passion is reading. I'm not quite at the level where i can do both at once (at least, i can't knit anything with a pattern while i read)... and i've just started reading the Left Behind series (which rock.) that we borrowed from the library and i want to finish the first few before they're due back.
Anyway, it's great to see the fabulous work everyone is doing!

Pair Six
The yarn is cotton JaWoll in a four colour stripe (two shades of orange, blue, and grey). Knitted on 2,5 mm needles over my usual 60 stitches.
They were a breeze to knit. The yarn is firmy plied for cotton which resulted in little splitting. The pattern is a simple two round composed of *knit 4 sl1* for the first row and knit for the second. I continuted the pattern down the top of the foot.
And I will wear them tomorrow in my sandals while tramping around Jerusalem.

pair 5 & 6 for charity
Pair 5 & 6 finished for charity. Worstened weight toe up socks, 4.5" finished foot length, using scraps of wool, for my charity CIC.I'm going to be behind on my sock knitting because of a sock related accident - if you want to read what happened to me on Sunday, please visit my blog. Socks # 11
Those socks are knit from the new Crystal Palace Panda Cotton, which is a 55% Bamboo, 24% cotton and 21% elastic nylon blend. The pattern is yarn over cables and the size is womans medium and the pair took almost 2 skeins.
When knit up this yarn is wonderful but knitting with it is not a pleasure as it splits awfully.

Sock update
Pair 4
After spending almost four hours on various street cars, trains and S-bahns yesterday, I was able to finish up this pair of socks. Tackily pictured on my feet which are propped up on the coffee table in our hotel room in Tel Aviv. Unfortunately during the day it is too warm for wool socks. This evening, when I was caught out in the pouring rain and sandals, I didn't have them on and came home with cold toes. The yarn is comerical German sock yarn. 60 stitches on 2,5 mm needles. The pattern is my own.

The second sock on this pair was knit today. S-Bahn to Airport and finished it on the flight from Zurich to here.
This yarn is Regia, one of their anitque colorway series from 2004-2005. Again (gee, I am really consistant on this) 60 stitches on 2,5 mm needles. It is a rather mild mannered stripe and would have lent itself well to a lot of vertical patterns. Just your basic vanilla sock with plain strape heel and one toe that got a bit pointy.

And Barbie is modeling socks#2. My niece the Prim Princess, requested these for her Barbie dolls.I have Sock #3 & #4 halfway done, so yay!
