1 down, 51 to go--and intro

I finished my first pair of socks for the plunge yesterday.

I call them my PB&J socks, because the color reminds me of peanut butter and jelly on just your basic soft white bread. The yarn is Claudia Handpaint in Butter Pecan, and they're just a 72-stitch stockinette sock with an eye-of-partridge heel flap and a star heel that I found in Folk Socks.

And as this is my first post, a bit of introduction...I'm Jaimi *waves* I'm a grad student working on a PhD in computer science. Since I started knitting socks, I wear them a heck of a lot more than I used to. When I'm not knitting, studying, or sleeping (what's that?), I'm reading, watching Red Sox games (okay, I'm usually knitting while I'm doing that) or UMaine hockey games (Frozen Four this weekend!), overusing parentheses, or playing World of Warcraft. I think I have pretty much every sock book you could find in the LYS, especially since my wonderful best friend gave me Favorite Socks and More Sensational Socks for my birthday last weekend. (I've made her one pair so far, and I think that's her way of saying that she wants more :-P)

I think the next socks I will start are the Rainy Day Socks from March's Magknits. It's time for something at a slightly larger gauge.

I'll flash my sock stash soon. It's awfully cloudy here, so natural light is rather sparse.

Very Nice! Good for you, for getting a pair out of the way so soon! I really like that yarn. I'll put it on my perhaps list, for when I'm allowed to buy more sock yarn.

And of course by star heel I mean star *toe* *facepalm*

Tika, I'm an altoholic...lately I've been playing a Tauren hunter on Bronzebeard. I've pretty much abandoned my only 60, but she got boring.
